“We Are Fort Bend” Photography Exhibit

Fort Bend County Libraries (FBCL), in conjunction with the Fort Bend County Diversity Over Division Initiative and the Fort Bend Photography Club, announces the opening of a special exhibit, “We Are Fort Bend.” The public is invited to attend a reception announcing the winners of FBCL’s “We Are Fort Bend” photography contest on Saturday, May 7th, from 2 to 3 pm, in the gallery. Light refreshments will be served at the reception. The exhibit, which showcases the people, culture, nature and places that make Fort Bend County special, will be on display through June 30th. Derby Day for Reining Strength

Child Advocates of Fort Bend’s Through the Looking Glass Gala

This fun, adult event will will feature a live and silent auction, raffle, wine and gift card pulls. Michele Fisher will emcee for the 9th year, and Johnny Bravo is joining as auctioneer for the 4th year. Attire for the evening is elegant with black tie and costumes optional. To date, Child Advocates of Fort Bend has served more than 20,500 children. Sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are available ranging from $2,000 to $15,000. Individual seats are available for $150. New this year is a Friend Bundle with two individual tickets, two drink tickets and valet parking for one vehicle for $500. The 8th Annual Strike Out Autism Family Fun Day

May 22nd • 11 am to 5 pm

Have fun at the Space Cowboys take on the Oklahoma City Dodgers at Constellation Field in a game that promotes awareness and education about autism, during Hope For Three’s primary outreach and fundraising event, Strike Out Autism, presented by Fred & Mabel R Parks Foundation. 450 Fort Bend County family members from the autism community will come together for a one-of-a-kind Family Fun Day. Additionally, County Judge KP George, all 18 Fort Bend City Mayors, 400 volunteers and Space Cowboy fans bring the community together and honor children and families living with autism. Pre-game festivities include, food, fun and fellowship, and a live and silent auction for all in attendance to help raise funds for Hope For Three. Sponsorships and tickets are available.
