It’s Spring in Texas, and at Richmond’s historic George Ranch, that means one thing this April and May: Wildflowers! presented by Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital.

The perfect family-friendly outing Saturdays in April and May, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital brings Wildflowers! to The George Ranch featuring spectacular fields sown with over 20 types of wildflower seeds and Spring activities galore. Take photos at the Wildflower Selfie Station as you tour the Ranch, and meet six of their famous residents: Shetland Sheep Flora, Angel, Jester, Andy, Moonlight and Marble. These friendly residents will be joined by the Ranch’s baby chicks debuting this Spring.

The George Ranch will host three Easter Egg Hunts from 11 am to 1 pm with over 3,000 eggs on Saturday, April 4th. For tickets and information, visit www.georgeranch.org.

The most popular Spring event during Wildflowers! at The George Ranch happens on Saturday, April 4th. The Ranch will host three Easter Egg Hunts from 11 am to 1 pm with over 3,000 eggs! The hunts are scheduled age appropriate, so kids, bring your baskets. A wildflower selfie station, games and crafts round out the day’s activities. The hunts are a ticketed event, and tickets are limited, so get your tickets early.

Adding to the Easter fun on Saturday, April 4th is the Children’s Entrepreneur Market. “The Children’s Entrepreneur Market is virtually a farmer’s market designed by kids,” said George Ranch Executive Director Adrienne Barker. “These youngsters develop their products along with marketing strategies to showcase their wares learning valuable business skills. Student education is our mission at The George Ranch, and the Children’s Entrepreneur Market is the perfect program to showcase on a day filled with children’s activities.”

“Coastal Cowboys: A Brand All Their Own,” a traveling exhibition from The Bryan Museum in Galveston, opens May 2nd. The exhibit unveils the overlooked saga of Texas’ Gulf Coast cowboys and their horses in both the pre and post-Civil War eras. Premiering in The George Ranch Visitor Center, the exhibit sheds light on a network of Texas coastal ranches that flourished long before Texas found its place on the map, revealing how these cowboys forged a distinct way of life amid sand, salt and sea.

Is that a mouse in your pocket? Handcrafted pocket mice from kid-owned Willow & Spool are just one of the specialty items featured at the Children’s Entrepreneur Market on Saturday, April 4th at The George Ranch. Three Easter Egg Hunts with over 3,000 eggs will also roll out on Saturday, April 4th. Get tickets at www.georgeranch.org.

No Spring schedule would be complete at the Ranch without the annual Mother’s Day Tea on Saturday, May 9th. This year’s theme is “Women Wranglers of the West.” The tea honors Port City Stock Yards’ Sartwelle family and is presented in partnership with the Coastal Chapter of Texas CattleWomen. Two limited seatings are available at 11 am and 2 pm with tea and light refreshments.

“Wildflowers! is a great way to celebrate both Spring and the Easter weekend with family and friends,” said Adrienne Barker, Executive Director. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy Spring at the Ranch.”
