Three Fort Bend ISD Students Awarded National Merit Scholarships, Bringing 2025 Total to 37

Three Fort Bend ISD students were awarded National Merit® Scholarships financed by United States colleges and universities, bringing the district’s total number of 2025 National Merit Scholarship winners to 37.

Winners include:

  • Anza F. Rizvi, Travis High School, Boston University; Probable career field: Physics
  • Daniel Wang, Clements High School, Texas A&M University; Probable career field: Computer Science
  • Andy Zhou, Clements High School, Texas A&M University; Probable career field: Computer Science

Officials from each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among the finalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program who will attend their institution. These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.

This announcement marks the fourth and final round of winners in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Earlier this spring, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced winners of corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards and National Merit $2,500 Scholarships. Four FBISD students were awarded corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarships in April, and 16 students received $2,500 scholarships sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
