Kody Clemens, son of legendary pitcher Roger Clemens, signed a contract with the Sugar Land Skeeters for the 2013 season.
Kody Clemens, an eighth-round draft pick of the Houston Astros in 2005, is familiar with the independent league team. He served as his father’s catcher in the second of the Rocket’s two starts for the Skeeters last summer.

“Kody showed me a lot last year. He’s played different positions, he’s always been a good hitter and you know his pedigree and his bloodline are solid,” Skeeters Manager Gary Gaetti said. “When he came to catch last year, he looked really good behind the plate. For me, he looked good enough to take a chance on and to be our guy to catch.”
