Celebrate 160 years of railroading in Fort Bend County at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum Railfest 2013 on Saturday, April 13th from 11 am to 6 pm. Enjoy a day of live music, tons of fun and games, delicious food and drink from O’Henry’s Catering and fun railfan activities as guests can watch many of the 60+ trains that travel the rails behind the museum every day.
Climb aboard the Quebec, the museum’s 1879 Business Car, and see the display of a railroad “speeder.” Learn about the world’s greatest hobby – model railroads – as guests enjoy watching the miniature world of trains. The Education Station will host three operating layouts in HO & S Gauge, Lionel and Thomas the Tank Engine.
Go back in time to the 1930s when you visit the Rosenberg Railroad Museum’s Hobo Jungle. View period reenactments of the Depression Era railroad community and the men who “rode the rails.” Kids can participate by making their own Hobo Bindle.
Other attractions include a vintage 1917 Ford “Model T” touring car in mint condition, and kids can take a ride on the museum’s Trackless Train Ride. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and $3 for children ages 1-14. Parking is free, and guests can register to win a raffle for a free birthday party at the museum.
