Squeals of laughter livened up Historic Downtown Rosenberg on April 11th as rail fans young and old enjoyed the sights and sounds of RailFest 2015 at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum. Thanks to the hard work of over 100 volunteers that day, the staff and the Museum’s board of directors, the event was a tremendous success, bringing in close to 1,100 visitors, despite the sprinkling of rain throughout the day.

The Houston Area “G” Gaugers were on hand running trains on the Garden Railroad, and the Houston “S” Gauge club entertained with their visiting layout. In addition, there were carnival games, a trackless train, balloon artist, circus train inflatable and hobo bindle craft for kids to enjoy. Live music from the Brazos River Pickers and DJ Chizz added to the fun, and guests enjoyed great food from local favorites Anna’s Gourmet Greek, M&M’s Southern Creole Kitchen and Trifles Gourmet Desserts.

The Museum had the support of many community partners who made the event memorable: The Gingerbread Kids’ Academy, sponsors of RailFest’s Kids Area, plus Kevin Patton, State Farm Agent, the Ol’ Railroad Cafe, Daniel Slavinski, CPA, Calvary Episcopal Prep, the Hardee Investment Group, Bob’s Tacos, Ray’s Glass, The Loan Store, EP Compean Funeral Directors, Dick’s Automotive, Another Time Soda Fountain, Joe and Doris Gurecky, Vision Trends, BR Vino, Vogelsang’s Antique Emporium, Physical Therapy Care, Buena Visa Restaurant, Pier 36, Today’s Vision Sugar Land, Duran Roofing, Chick-fil-A, Greenscape, Hawkins Furniture, Alicia Casias Agency, Jeff McCllelan, CPA, Amegy Bank, Chris Bronsell, Billy Guerrero and BAC Photography.

“The overwhelming support of the community that joined us on a day that had not so great weather was amazing. We are so thankful to our sponsors and volunteers, who continue to make RailFest so enjoyable for all of our visitors year after year,” said the Museum’s Executive Director Ratha Liladrie. “Rosenberg is such a great town with so much to offer. I’m thrilled so many people got to experience it firsthand at RailFest 2015, and we look forward to an even better event in 2016.”
