Kassidi and Kolton Kaminski with The Jungle Book’s Baloo and King Louie at Disney World.
It’s 2014! Another new year is upon us, and with it, I have high hopes. I’ve always been an optimist, a more “the glass is half full” kind of girl, so I love the new year and of course, the ever popular New Year’s Resolutions.
At the top of my resolution list this year is to highlight even more West Fort Bend residents and businesses doing amazing things in our community. This month’s cover, I must admit, hits close to home. The cover features the new Gingerbread Kids’ Academy, a state-of-the-art 10,000 square foot children’s academy that is being built in Richmond. You might recognize the names of the owners as they are long-standing members of our community with an excellent reputation in child care and education. And yes, their last name is also the same as mine. Congratulations to my husband, Tim, and my mother and father-in-law on their new endeavor. Read all about their new center and their plans to insure a bright future for our community’s children on page 8.
My next resolution will be to never go to four theme parks in four days again. Yes, Tim and I took our children to Disney World over the holidays, and let me just say, Disney is tough on a princess. The princess, of course, being me.
My final resolution – yes, I have discovered that limiting myself to three actually works for me – is to spend more time with family and friends. The “all work and no play” adage is going to be top of mind with me for the coming year. And well, I think taking our Vine Sleuth’s advice on page 20 is also not a bad idea: Drink more – and better – wine!
We wish you many blessings for the coming year, and we look forward to seeing you out and about in Brazos in 2014! Happy New Year!
Absolutely! yours,
Patti Parish-Kaminski
