Common Threads, a program in Lamar Consolidated ISD (LCISD) that gives out free, gently used clothing, uniforms, new socks and underwear, as well as backpacks, toiletries, school supplies and shoes, to kids in the school district who qualify, is in need of donations for their upcoming “Hope on the Brazos” event on July 25th at 710 Houston Street in Richmond.

The organization needs clothes, preferably for summer, ranging in size from preschool to high school. Common Threads also has numerous volunteer opportunities for kids seventh grade and up. Community and service hours will be given throughout the summer to volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of their fellow students in LCISD.

Donations can be dropped off at Common Threads located at 710 Houston Street in Richmond or at the blue donation bin located outside the back door. Tax receipts are also available for donations. For more information, contact Jill Duban at 832-223-0335 or jduban@lcisd.org.
