Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse, Inc. presents the Sixth Annual Helen Cordes Award Dinner featuring intervention specialists Debbie and Brandon Knauss on February 26th, 2015 at Safari Texas Ranch. Brandon and Debbie have been featured on the Dr. Phil Show, The Doctors and the TLC primetime special, Cracking Addiction!
In America, nearly every family is directly or indirectly affected by the disease of addiction and/or mental illness. Brandon and Debbie have a distinctive approach to the intervention process. This is precisely why Dr. Phil and The Doctors television programs selected them to illustrate what an important and valuable tool intervention is in combating addiction. Debbie and Brandon conduct interventions as a mother and son team. Brandon is a former addict, and his mother lived through years of his disease. Debbie is a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) and Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Their unique bond allows them to offer what few other intervention specialists can: intimate, direct knowledge of what the family is experiencing.
The award dinner is held in honor of an individual who has given their time, experience and expertise to Fort Bend Regional Council. The Honoree for 2015 is Judge Susan Lowery, who has been an outspoken advocate on substance abuse issues.
The Helen Cordes Award was founded to honor her generous community spirit. She served on the Fort Bend Regional Council’s Board of Directors from 1991 to 1997 and was President from 1992 to 1995. For more event information, contact Mandi Bronsell at 281-207-2409 or mbronsell@fortbendcouncil.org.
