12th Annual Miracle on Morton Street
Are you ready for an old-fashioned, small town Christmas like you remember when you were growing up? Jingle all the way to Richmond to celebrate Miracle on Morton Street for the City’s exciting, family-oriented Christmas celebration. The Historic Richmond Association is proud to present this annual event to kick off the Christmas season on Saturday, December 6th from 10 am to 6 pm in the historic district of Richmond.
Miracle on Morton Street is a gift to The Historic Richmond Association’s gracious families and children of the community. Local artists will fill the air with wonderful music and joy for all to enjoy. Holiday shopping with local businesses and vendors will offer a variety of arts, crafts, gifts and food. A Kidz Zone will be available for children and includes face painting, a balloon maker, magic shows, air bounce fun and fire truck tours. As in years past, there will be a station with letters to Santa in front of the Post Office, so bring your little ones to mail their letters to Santa!
“I enjoy this event because it brings Richmond together as a community during a very special time of year,” said Richmond Mayor Evalyn W. Moore. “We get to see old friends, visit and share the beginning of the holiday season. I commend the Historic Richmond Association for their efforts organizing this annual event.”
This year, the Historic Richmond Association has chosen to give back to the community by participating in Toys for Tots. Many children in the community are not fortunate to receive a gift at Christmas, so the Historic Richmond Association wants to help families have a happy Christmas. Anyone who is able is asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to place in the box that will be available at the Christmas Headquarters.
The Historic Richmond Association is a local non-profit organization in Richmond. For more information on the 12th Annual Miracle on Morton Street, contact historicrichmondassociation@gmail.
