Exclamation Points! – December 2014

“We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.” – Buddy

For years, when someone called the Kaminski’s during the holiday season, Kassidi and Kolton would answer the phone with the following greeting:  “Buddy the elf!  What’s your favorite color?” Yes, Elf is our all-time favorite holiday movie. We’ve seen it multiple times in multiple venues from Texas to Colorado during the holidays. It’s become one of our favorite family traditions.

The holidays are all about traditions, and in this issue, we talk with State Representative Lois W. Kolkhorst. The Kolkhorst family shares their values and holiday traditions with us, along with some beautiful family photos.  Representative Kolkhorst is running for senator for District 18 where she would represent an even larger constituency in Texas, so get to know her, her family and what she stands for starting on page 6.

Speaking of holiday traditions, the cities of Richmond and Rosenberg are hosting a series of both family-friendly and adult events to celebrate the season.  We’ll be there on December 4th as a sponsor of Shop & Swirl in Historic Downtown Rosenberg.  Hope to see you there!

Another tradition of ours at absolutely! focus media is our annual GEMS event.  This year, we benefitted Texana Center with an amazing evening. We had dinner, showcased three amazing community leaders – Bob, Neil and Jim – played in the chips for charity casino, and had a blast! Check out pictures on page 22, and look for the details in next month’s issue about how much money was raised for Texana Center.

It really is the most wonderful time of the year. This year, I have more than usual to be thankful for. My family, friends, colleagues and team here at absolutely! focus media are truly amazing individuals, and I am blessed because of them. From all of us here to you and yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  We will see you in 2015!

Absolutely yours!
