September/October – Exclamation Points!

Enjoy the Season: The Beauty of Fall –

Kay and Jim Garrett enjoyed the Downtown Stomp in Historic Rosenberg.

Who can resist the crisp chill in the air, a hot cup of fresh apple cider and the changing colors of the leaves – not to mention the myriad of pumpkin spice-flavored treats that are found everywhere during this season? Fall marks a time of magnificent landscape changes. Take a minute to appreciate the beauty of fall.

Memorial Hermann Sugar Land is on the cover of this issue. Memorial Hermann consistently strives to provide Fort Bend County with premier healthcare. Their most recent technology is the UroNav Fusion Biopsy System, which is leading the next generation in prostrate care just in time for September’s Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Please see page 6 for more information.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Our Focus on the Cure section has some informative articles to help educate and your loved ones about awareness, detection and treatment options available in our community.

Looking to buy, sell, build or update your home? Check out our Home is Where the Heart is section on page 16. Here you will find some great ideas and resources to help you get started.

Enjoying the season in Fort Bend County is easy! Festivals and events abound this time of year, and one of my favorites is the Fort Bend County Fair. It’s a full ten days of rodeo fun, entertainment and activities for all ages. The Needville Harvest Fest is another great weekend event and family friendly. Historic Downtown Richmond is hosting movies, a boutique crawl and Motown on Morton, and Rosenberg is hosting an Artisan Market in October. Check out our Historic Downtown pages for dates. I hope you will take full advantage of all the entertainment and events right here in our Brazos community!

Don’t forget to vote for your Brazos Favorites at www.absolutelybrazos.com. I look forward to seeing everyone out and about in Brazos!

Absolutely yours,

Kay Garrett
