September-October 2021 – Exclamation Points

Happy Harvest!

Kay Garrett and grandson Canon Kiehl visiting the pumpkin patch.

Where did the summer go? Time flies when you are having fun! But seriously, summer flew by so fast, and now we are approaching the season of football, festivals, and all things pumpkin spice. As we begin to enjoy the slightly cooler weather and shorter sunlit days, I hope you will check out and enjoy some of the fall activities that are planned in our Brazos community this year.

Our cover story features a pediatrician’s tips from Memorial Hermann Sugar Land. Memorial Hermann consistently strives to provide Fort Bend County with premier healthcare. Children’s Memorial Hermann Pediatrics Sugar Land recognizes the challenges for parents and families as they navigate the overwhelming amount of information available about Covid-19 vaccines and kids. Please see page 4 for tips for protecting your kids when they are at school.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Our Focus on the Cure section has some informative articles to help educate you and your loved ones about awareness, detection and treatment options available in our community.

New this year is our absolutely! Brazos Cares About Community section. Fort Bend County has so many great non-profits that benefit our community. Please check out this section on page 10 to see how you can get involved, donate or become a sponsor. Our non-profits truly are the heart of Fort Bend.

Looking to buy, sell or update your home? Check out our Home and Hearth section on page 9. Here you will find some great ideas and resources to help you get started.

I hope you will enjoy this harvest season by volunteering or attending one of the many activities hosted by one of our non-profits. I look forward to seeing you out and about in our Brazos community!
