A Magical Time of Year! –

Jim and Kay Garrett attended the OakBend Patchwork of Life gala.

It’s a magical time of year! The time of year we spend with family and friends, giving thanks for our many blessings and celebrating our Lord and Savior.  Speaking of celebrating, our Readers Choice Awards were conducted again this year, and boy did our Brazos community represent! From food to shopping to entertainment, our readers shared with us their favorites. Check out the 14 pages of our readers’ favs if you are looking for a great place to dine, shop, enjoy happy hour or listen live entertainment. These are just a few of the categories.

The magic of the season lives on with Project Noel, our featured cover story. Growing up in Richmond, one of our families’ highlights each year was driving through the Richmond State School holiday lights and displays, now known as the Richmond State Supported Living Center’s Project Noel. This tradition continued with my kids each year, and now I’m looking forward to sharing it with my grandkids one day. My hope is that everyone in the community will make time this year to visit Project Noel. It is one event not to be missed!

It is truly a magical time of year. I have so much to celebrate and be thankful for this holiday season. First and foremost our advertisers, readers, and subscribers are the reason we are able to do what we do: bring you the people, places and happenings in our community.  This year I have more than usual to be thankful for. My family and new grandson, friends, colleagues and team here at absolutely! focus media are all amazing individuals, and I am blessed by each one.

I wish you all a very blessed Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas! I look forward to seeing and hearing from you in 2019!

Absolutely yours,

Kay Garrett
