Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital’s Partners in Caring Committee, in collaboration with the Memorial Hermann School-Based Clinics at Terry and Lamar High Schools, coordinated a school supply drive for students of Lamar Consolidated ISD (LCISD).

With many families losing income during the pandemic and with increasing school costs, this donation assisted several LCISD families in preparing for the new school year.

“We hope that this will help students in those schools enter their classrooms prepared and confident to begin the new school year,” said Malisha Patel, Senior Vice President and CEO of Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital. “Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital is committed to making a positive impact in the community we serve, and this is just one way we do it.”

Employees from Memorial Hermann Sugar Land donated items such as backpacks, notebooks, and pencils for students to help alleviate some of the costs associated with the start of school.

“The support we receive from community partners like Memorial Hermann helps the school district provide the best possible learning experiences for our students,” said Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Roosevelt Nivens. “After a challenging year, donations like this fill a financial need for our families and support the District’s goal of speaking life into our students.”
