March/April – Exclamation Points!

Welcome Spring: The Year’s Most Colorful and Joyful Season –

Kay Garrett.

I love Spring! Spring is the season where the weather, flowers and sun are reborn; after the cold of winter, it brings light and color to the natural world. Experts on the subject say that falling in love and people’s enthusiasm increase due to changes in the weather; sunlight causes hormonal changes in the body, which in turn provokes emotional changes as well. I can certainly attest to feeling more emotionally recharged and energetic in the Spring. And, I absolutely love the fresh air and smell of blooming flowers!

Our cover featuring the Gingerbread Kids Academy is celebrating their 5th year! Congratulations and thank you for loving and serving the kids in our community so well! The Gingerbread Kids Academy offers the finest educational and developmental programs, exceptional after-school care and outstanding summer camp programs.  These programs are all top notch with highly qualified and experienced care givers sharing their love of learning with each child. Trust me you’ll be a raving fan!

With the sun shining, colors and climate changing, the motivation to clean or change your cherished home becomes a candid pleasure. To help you start that home project, check out our Home is Where the Heart Is. There are some great ideas and resources to get you started. Our Medical Focus section in this issue is one not to be missed. There you will find many articles from family physicians to specialists throughout our community.

As this season of color and joy continues, I hope you will take advantage and enjoy some of the wonderful events happening in our Brazos community this Spring! There are several 5K fun runs benefiting various charities, see our events calendar, the Art Walk & Motor Madness in Downtown Richmond, A Derby Day Party benefiting Reining Strength Therapeutic Horsemanship and much more. I look forward to seeing you out and about in Brazos!

Let Spring begin! Wishing each of you a Happy Spring, a fun Spring Break and a Blessed Easter!

Absolutely yours,
