Projects, Plans and Parties

In Tolstoy’s famous novel Anna Karenina, he said, “Spring is the time of plans and projects.” I couldn’t agree more. It’s time to freshen up our homes and gardens, or perhaps make a move. To help you get motivated and organized on home projects, check out our Home Is Where the Heart Is special section starting on page 25. There are some great ideas and resources to help get you started.

If, by chance, your next project involves car repair, our cover story brings you two young entrepreneurs who have made a name for their business by providing quality work, exceptional customer service and a giving heart for our community. Freddy Lopez and Gary Gutierrez opened Expert Collison Center in Rosenberg in 2012, and in a very brief time, they have earned a stellar reputation.  And, I speak from experience when I say that working with them and their amazing staff takes the pain out of a “wrecked” situation.

One of the best parties each Spring is celebrating its 28th year: The Lone Star Stomp. This year’s event pays homage to the 1960s as the Fort Bend County Museum Association celebrates its 50th anniversary. So grab your favorite tie dye t-shirt and peace symbol necklace and head out to George Ranch Historical Park on Saturday, April 8th.

As you tackle your plans and projects this Spring, remember to let us know what’s going on in your world – what organizations you are involved with, what your kids are up to and of course, photos from your Spring Break trips.  absolutely! Brazos is your community magazine, and we want to tell your good news.

We wish you all a Happy Spring – full of plans, projects and parties – and most importantly, a blessed Easter.

Absolutely yours,
