The Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) is concluding its 2019-2020 League year and is pleased to announce that it has distributed $373,200 to the Fort Bend community this year. Proceeds raised from its 2019 “Joy to the World” Sugar Plum Market allowed it to spread joy across the county to dozens of worthy charities and scholarship recipients. Since its inception in 2001, FBJSL has donated approximately $4.5 million dollars to more than 60 Fort Bend charities, and its members have volunteered hundreds of thousands of service hours to local non-profit agencies.

FBJSL is currently accepting applications from charitable organizations interested in benefiting from the 2020 Sugar Plum Market, which will be a celebration of FBJSL’s 20th Anniversary of service to the community. FBJSL is hopeful the Sugar Plum Market will take place; however, the health and safety of the League’s volunteers, vendors, patrons and sponsors are top priorities as the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve.

FBJSL understands that charitable organizations are focused on immediate needs and may not yet be able to forecast what their needs will be in 2021. Given these uncertainties, FBJSL has postponed the June 1st, 2020 deadline to submit event beneficiary applications until August 1st, 2020.

The application is at www.fbjsl.org/request-support. All applications must be submitted to brccom@fbjsl.com. Further updates will be available at fbjsl.org and sugarplummarket.com.
